Meet Attorney Cameron L. Hyder

Mr. Hyder is a local native of Carter County who has gained extensive experience as a litigator, Assistant State Attorney General in the Criminal Justice Division of the TN Attorney General’s Office, adjunct professor, widely sought appellate lawyer, and Legal Director of the Appeals and Hearing Division in the TN Department of Human Services supervising 28 Administrative Law Judges.

Now basing his legal practice in Johnson City, Attorney Cameron Hyder serves clients with various legal needs and goals. He regularly advises numerous non-profit organizations and corporate boards and offers seasoned counsel on legal procedures.

Many clients first became aware of Mr. Hyder’s expertise when he was featured on ABC’s 20/20, HLN’s Nancy Grace and A&E American Justice about high-profile legal cases. He is also featured in James Patterson’s True Crime Thrillers novel Murder Thy Neighbor, which unravels the story of the Mountain City, TN, social media murders.

Angela Baines Johnson

Paralegal

With over 30 years of experience as a Paralegal, Angela brings a strong sense of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail to everything she does. She holds an Associate Degree as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant from RETS TECH College in Centerville, Ohio. Her interest in law was sparked during a brief volunteering stint in 1995 with former Sheriff Ron England. Throughout her career, Angela has had the great privilege of working with some of the most esteemed and revered attorneys in the legal field before joining the firm of Hyder Law Office.

Outside of her career, Angela enjoys photography, traveling, and spending quality time with her friends, family, and especially time with her four wonderful grandchildren.

Sarah Brown

Administrative Assistant

Sarah holds a degree in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources from East Tennessee State University. She joined the Hyde Law Firm team in July 2025 and has played a vital role in supporting daily operations and improving organizational efficiency. Sarah is dedicated to creating a positive and collaborative environment where both the team and the organization can thrive.

Outside of work, Sarah is actively involved in the performing arts. She teaches ballet and performs with the Amalgam Dance Company, bringing creativity, discipline, and passion to her professional and artistic endeavors.
