A native of Carter County, Cameron L. Hyder practiced throughout the 1st and 2nd Judicial Districts in 2005 and 2006. Thereafter, Hyder was appointed as an Assistant State Attorney General in the Criminal Justice Division with the Tennessee Attorney General and Reporter’s Office. Upon his move and transition to Nashville, Hyder continued his career, arguing a number of cases before the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals and the Tennessee Supreme Court. In 2008, Hyder began his teaching career as an Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice, Criminal Law, and the Appellate Process. In 2012, he was appointed as Legal Director of the Appeals and Hearing Division within the Tennessee Department of Human Services, where he led a division of 28 Administrative Law Judges. Thereafter, Hyder returned to Northeast Tennessee, in March 2013, to return to his passion of trial practice. He is currently located at Hyder Law Office in Historic Downtown Elizabethton, where he focuses on a variety of legal needs for his clients. Hyder, throughout his career, has been an active member of both the Nashville and Tri-Cities communities, where he has served on a number of boards for various non-profit organizations. Hyder has also been sought out as a consultant on a number of areas associated with legal procedure and philanthropic ventures. Hyder has been featured on ABC’s 20/20 and Nancy Grace on HLN, and he more recently has been a featured guest lecturer at Criminal Law Symposiums in the collegiate setting.
